Studio Salon DNA
Though born and raised in rural South Africa, Aubrey has been calling Los Angeles his home for the past 17 years. During this time, he’s built a very loyal clientele, traveled around the world, worked LA, New York, and Paris Fashion Weeks while continuing to grow his two LA salons. Studio DNA co-owned with his husband and business partner, Danny Leclair.
Although the salons keep him busy with clients and education, Aubrey’s true passion is the world of Fashion. Whether it is a photo shoot, runway show, makeover show, or a red carpet event, nothing beats the adrenalin rush he gets from working in this capacity. Aubrey has lead several runway shows and says that as challenging as it can be, it’s the place where he learns and teaches the most. Aubrey and his husband also share a passion for charitable work. They import handcrafted products from South Africa to help create sustainable living for African men and women infected or affected by HIV and AIDS. In Los Angeles, they work with two women’s shelters, giving women complete makeovers to help them regain their self-esteem.
Aubrey has also worked on several makeover shows for Lifetime Television and enjoys the journey of working with and transforming everyday people.
“I am truly grateful for my life and career, I get to do what I love every day, working with amazing and beautiful people. However, none of it would mean anything without giving back to the world.”
